Professor Jenny Davis is a member of the Research Institute for Environment and Livelihoods, in the Faculty of Science and Technology, at Charles Darwin University, Northern Territory, Australia. Jenny has advanced the understanding of global wetlands through research on wetland loss, hydrological change, eutrophication and salinization. Her current research projects seek to identify the patterns and processes that support surface and groundwater-dependent wetlands in arid, semi-arid and wet/dry tropical regions and the persistence of aquatic biota and refugia. Jenny has a PhD and BSc (Hons) from the University of Tasmania, and held academic positions at Murdoch University, Monash University and the University of Canberra, before joining Charles Darwin University in 2016. Jenny has published (individually or collaboratively) 225 works, including 8 books, 121 peer-reviewed journal papers, book chapters and conference proceedings, 96 technical reports and other works, and has supervised 87 research students (PhDs, Masters and Honours). She was awarded the Limnology Medal for excellence in freshwater research by the Australian Society for Limnology in 2006 and was the recipient of the Society of Wetland Scientists International Fellow Award in 2023. Jenny has contributed to many Australia committees on wetland conservation and management. She is a member of the International Organising Committee for INTECOL’s International Wetland Conferences and is a past Chair of the Society for Wetland Scientists (SWS) Oceania Chapter.
